    approved-p isn't kewl, it's clear. It designates the field as a predicate and could potentially help distinguish it from other fields ... approved-by, approved-for, etc.

    Don't discount Common Lisp because the string manipulation isn't built up so nicely as Tcl. If you want a syntactic shortcut that's quicker and clearer it wouldn't be impossible to

    write a macro like


    (string-eval "posted by $email on $posting-date.")


    That expands into


    (concatenate 'string "posted by " email " on " posting-date ".")
